Campers will not only learn about basic fishing techniques, conservation, marine biology, and aquatic organisms, but they will also participate in fun environmental fishing games, arts and crafts activities, and travel to different field trip sites!

Summer Camp 2017 featured many changes that expanded the range of activities and field trip sites and focused on a variety of aspects regarding fish, fishing techniques, and marine science to engage campers and further their interest in fishing and our aquatic world. 2017 also introduced NEW Advanced camps for those who wanted to learn more, explore further, and improve their skills, and they were AWESOME! Stay tuned for more new and exciting activities and adventures IGFA Educators are preparing for 2018!

These camps are remarkably hands-on and teach young anglers and aspiring marine biologists to be stewards of the environment. Every participant will also receive an IGFA Camp T-shirt, a goodie bag, and a free rod and reel and tackle box combo compliments of Fish Florida. Camper/Counselor ratio is never more than 1:10. All of our counselors are CPR and First Aid Certified, and most have either obtained or are working towards a degree in marine biology or a related field.

More of what parents are saying about our camps:

"I have been unexpectedly thrilled with your camp programs. We have sent our son to both the weekly summer camps and the occasional day-off-of-school camp. We have never been disappointed. He loves it there and he comes back having mastered something new each time. The most important part, and I cannot stress this enough, is that he feels charged up in your environment, but not hyper. The school environment can slowly sap him of all his will, but at your camp he shines! Like Einstein is credited as saying, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Thank you for helping my little fish see what a beautiful swimmer he is." - Janet, Ft. Lauderdale

"First and foremost, I would like to thank all of the staff for being so amazing with my son! He's never looked forward to going to any other camp the way he did with IGFA. He talked about how great and nice the counselors were. I also noticed a change in his confidence level, which I can credit to IGFA. Second, with the knowledge that he has gained, it has opened so many new perspectives in our home. He learned to love the outdoors and he's taught his whole family to do so as well. We love being outdoors more than ever!" - Shelly, Davie

"Our son had the BEST time at camp!  We are so thankful that our friends told us about it.  Thank you for an educational and FUN experience!" - Elizabeth, Pompano Beach

"Thanks again for a wonderful experience in Florida.  My son absolutely loved the marine biology week at the IGFA camp.  It was fantastic to hear all the stories about their activities." - Brian, Lambertville, NJ
